Description
In Week 8, we’re bridging the gap between “crafting” and “professional products.” This session is inspired by my own handmade business, showing students exactly how a functional accessory is made from start to finish.
What we will cover in this session:
-
Heavy-Duty Construction: Learning to sew through cotton webbing and multiple layers of fabric.
-
Hardware Installation: Mastering the use of pliers and “key fob” hardware.
-
The “Hump Jumper” Technique: How to help your machine glide over thick seams without skipping a stitch.
-
Business Insight: A brief look at how small-batch handmade items are designed and sold.
The Project: Students will complete a Fabric-Covered Keychain Wristlet. This project is a student favorite because it feels like something they would find in a boutique or on Etsy!
Note: This is Week 8 of our 10-week series. Purchase this individual session, or save by enrolling in the full course!
