Stitch by Stitch Week 8: Working with Hardware & The Keychain Wristlet

$65.00

Turn your sewing into a business! This week, we move into “manufacturing” mode. Students will learn how to sew through heavy layers and install metal hardware to create a professional-quality Keychain Wristlet.

  • Skill Level: Intermediate

  • Format: 2-Hour In-Person Session

Description

In Week 8, we’re bridging the gap between “crafting” and “professional products.” This session is inspired by my own handmade business, showing students exactly how a functional accessory is made from start to finish.

What we will cover in this session:

  • Heavy-Duty Construction: Learning to sew through cotton webbing and multiple layers of fabric.

  • Hardware Installation: Mastering the use of pliers and “key fob” hardware.

  • The “Hump Jumper” Technique: How to help your machine glide over thick seams without skipping a stitch.

  • Business Insight: A brief look at how small-batch handmade items are designed and sold.

The Project: Students will complete a Fabric-Covered Keychain Wristlet. This project is a student favorite because it feels like something they would find in a boutique or on Etsy!

Note: This is Week 8 of our 10-week series. Purchase this individual session, or save by enrolling in the full course!
