Hybrid Teaching Structure
We’ve designed a hybrid teaching style that balances expert guidance with the freedom of independent creativity. This structure is crafted to fit into a busy student’s schedule while ensuring they have the support needed to master technical skills.
How It Works
Each week, students engage in a three-pillar learning approach:
In-Person Mentorship (1 Hour): Hands-on instruction where we troubleshoot techniques, refine skills, and build community in the studio.
Guided Video Lessons: Professional video instruction that students can re-watch and pause at their own pace, ensuring no detail is missed.
Independent Study (1–2 Hours, 3 days/week): Dedicated time for students to apply what they’ve learned. This builds the “steady hands” and problem-solving confidence required for true craftsmanship.
The Benefits
This model promotes time management and self-discipline—essential skills for any high schooler—while providing a “safety net” of professional oversight. It allows students to move through the technical “chaos” of a project at their own speed, resulting in a deeper, more personal connection to their work.

Designed for the Homeschool Heart
As a homeschool parent since 2015, I understand that flexibility isn’t just a luxury—it’s a necessity. I created these classes and our unique pricing structure specifically with the homeschool family in mind, balancing professional-grade instruction with the realities of home-based education.
Why This Structure Works for You
Budget-Friendly Value: Our semester and annual rates are designed to provide high-level technical elective credits without the high-level price tag.
Flexible Pacing: The hybrid model—combining one hour of in-person mentorship with video lessons and independent study—allows students to count these hours toward their official school transcripts.
A Growing Community: Whether your student is looking for a focused semester series or a full year of creative growth, our tiers (Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced) provide a clear, academic path for their middle and high school years.
We are here to help you navigate the chaos of elective planning with steady hands and a full heart, providing a space where your students can thrive creatively while meeting their educational goals.
Sewing Levels Guide
Beginners
Previous Experience: None required! This is for the total beginner or those who need a thorough refresher on the basics.
What They’ll Learn: Students master machine safety, threading, and basic maintenance. We focus on foundational seams, simple construction, and completing their first functional projects like zippered pouches and tote bags.
The Goal: Building the “steady hands” and confidence needed to move into garment construction.
Intermediate
Previous Experience: Must have completed Beginning Sewing or demonstrate proficiency in basic machine operation and straight-seam construction.
What They’ll Learn: We dive deeper into technical precision. Students learn to read and cut from commercial patterns, install advanced closures (like buttons and invisible zippers), and work with a wider variety of fabric types.
The Goal: Transitioning from “crafting” to “garment making” with professional finishing techniques.
Advanced
Previous Experience: Successful completion of Intermediate Sewing is a prerequisite.
What They’ll Learn: This is a student-led, project-based atmosphere. Students take the lead on their designs—from complex apparel to intricate accessories—while receiving expert mentorship on advanced tailoring, fitting, and design manipulation.
The Goal: Cultivating true creative independence and a portfolio of high-level work.
