Description
Build your sewing foundation with a steady hand and a full heart.
In this first session of our 10-week series, students will transition from curious beginners to confident makers. We start at the very beginning—learning how to handle tools safely and why fabric behaves the way it does.
What we will cover in this session:
-
Safety First: Proper handling of needles, pins, and fabric shears.
-
The “Big Three” Stitches: Mastery of the Running Stitch, Whipstitch, and the Backstitch.
-
Hardware 101: How to sew on a button that actually stays put!
-
Fabric Basics: An introduction to working with felt and understanding fabric grain.
The Project: Every student will complete a Felt Needle Book. This isn’t just a craft; it’s a professional tool that students will use for the rest of the 10-week series (and beyond!) to keep their needles organized and safe.
What’s Included:
-
2 hours of expert instruction.
-
All specialty felt, embroidery floss, and buttons.
-
A supportive, small-group environment.
Note: This is Week 1 of our 10-week series. Purchase this individual session, or save by enrolling in the full course!
